About Getting there
Europe: Daily flights to Johannesburg or Lusaka, where you take your connecting flight to Livingstone.
USA: Direct flights from JFK, ATL and IAD to Johannesburg
From Johannesburg (1h30):
Daily flights to Livingstone Airport, Zambia with British Airways and South African Airways. From Livingstone Airport the road transfer to Stanley Safari Lodge takes about 20 minutes (airport transfers included)
From Lusaka (Zambia) (1h00):
Daily flights to Livingstone Airport, Zambia with Proflight and Zambezi Airlines
From South Luangwa NP/Lower Zambezi NP/Kafue NP (Zambia):

From Maun/Okavango/Kasane (Botswana):
Light aircraft to Livingstone Airport, Zambia (Moremi Air, Safari Air, Sefofane, Delta Air, Mack Air). Alternatively road transfer from Kasane to Stanley Safari Lodge, approx. 1,5 hours including border crossing. Several professional transfer companies like Bushtracks and Wild Horizons can easily arrange your road transfer from Kasane.
From Windhoek (Namibia):
2 weekly flights to Victoria Falls Airport, Zimbabwe. The road transfer to Stanley Safari Lodge takes about 1 hour by car including border crossing

In case you drive yourself to the lodge, we can send you a full itinerary. We do recommend you use this itinerary, the lodge is NOT signposted.

Upon entry and exit
- Visa: Visa's are required for most nationalities. Southern African nationalities are exempt. Visa’s can be obtained upon entry or can be arranged prior to travel. Upon entry only single and double entry visa are granted, for multiple entry visa one will have to apply at nearest embassey/consulate prior to travelling. On 01-03-2009 most western europeans, north americans and australians pay 50$ single entry visa pp/80$ double entry visa pp. Visa can ONLY be paid in cash USD (credit cards NOT accepted). Passport should be valid for at least 6 months
- Money: USD is widely accepted. VISA/Mastercard and Travellers Cheques often carry a 5% surcharge and are not always accepted. American Express and Diners Club NOT accepted. Best is to carry some cash USD with you. Euro and GBP generally not accepted (yet)
- Exit: if you fly out of Zambia, please note that an Airport departure tax exists (at time of writing: USD 25 pp for international departures, USD 8 for national departures) to be paid at the airport. However, usually this airport tax is already included in your (international) ticket (verify with your agent). Airport Tax can only be paid in cash USD.
The Lodge

- Exclusive, small scale, family owned, rustique, romantic, intimate, personalised service
- Positioned on a hill overlooking the spray of the Falls and the Zambezi River in the distance
- Open sided main building with upper deck, communal garden and infinity pool with views over the Zambezi Valley
Accommodation
- 10 rooms in total
- 4 suites with private plunge pools. 2 Of these suites have an unique open concept and have an African interior. The 2 other suites are closed suites with a colonial interior.
- 6 cottages of which 5 have an unique open concept, one is closed. The interior is African.
- All rooms come with either double or twin bed configuration (upon request, except for the honeymoon suite which comes standard with a double bed). Beds come with cotton sheets, bedspread or duvet (depending on season and extra blankets available) and mosquito net.
- All rooms come with complete bathroom, most of them with separate shower and bath (except for Mukuni)
Lodge specifics
- Electricity: 240 Volts UK plugs (square 3 pin), main supply with generator backup
- Water: private borehole water (regularly tested). Also bottled water is available.
- Meals: set lunch & evening meals (special diets available). All meals are included/
- Breakfast: continental, english and cereal breakfast, fruits
- Lunch: set warm dish with salad
- High Tea: with some scones, cake and/or cookies
- Dinner: 3 course dinner
- Drinks: local drinks (soft, beer, housewine and Gin & Tonic) included. Imported bottles of wine and imported spirits are extra.
- Communications:
- Cell phone coverage available according to the European GSM standard.
- Rooms have no TV, telephone, minibar or internet
- For emergencies telephone is available at reception
- Internet: Livingstone town does have some internet cafes
- Laundry: yes, complementary but with a limit of 10 items per room per day due to scarcity of water
- Tipping is entirely at guest's discretion.
- Transport: private transport needs to be arranged prior to arrival. Although we endeavour to arrange transfers and activities as private as possible, we can not guarantee entirely private transfers, unless arranged prior to arrival. Taxis can always be arranged upon request.
What to bring
- 2-3 sets of cotton, neutral colored safari clothes
- 2 sets of casual evening clothes (long sleeves)
- 1 light windbreaker or bodywarmer (chilly early morning drives) and 1 warm jersey in winter (June/July)
- Good walking shoes and sandals (Falls).
- Insurance: Medical and Full comprehensive travel insurance is recommended which includes full trip cancellation cover. We do need to charge cancellation fees according to the policies stated.
- Medical: Anti-malaria tablets and tetanus & hepatitus vaccination recommended (consult your doctor or pharmacist).
- Sun hat & sun glasses, sun-lotion, insect-repellent, basic medical kit, torch
- Binoculars, camera, spare battery & plenty of memory cards. If you wear contact lenses, we recommend spare glasses.
Remember, if you travel by light aircraft, lugage must be packed in soft bags and cannot exceed 12 kg/person. Light aircrafts are mainly used for air transfers from Stanley Safari Lodge to Kafue NP, Lower Zambezi NP, South Luangwa NP, Kasane/Chobe NP and Okavango Delta (Botswana), Etosha NP and Sossusvlei (Namibia).

- May-July: sunny and dry winter with cool nights and mornings and warm afternoons. Water levels: average
- August-October: sunny and dry, warm (very hot in October). Water levels: very low
- November-April: rainy season, warm to hot, high humidity. Generally January/February have the biggest rains. Water levels: high with peak in April.
